Driving an Alfa Romeo Giulietta

Cars. Gotta love 'em. Luxury marques or high-spec sports cars, driving a great car can be a sublime experience. So when I needed a hire car, I turned to a quality Italian marque, Alfa Romeo, and their Giulietta for some fun. Here's what happened.

Miss_H_Blog_Article_Downsizing_Make_Up

January means one thing to me - SALE SHOPPING! It's the only time of the year that I can justify spending half of my rent money on a new handbag, and that is only because it was originally the same cost as all of my monthly rent (oooops!).

Though I am not sure this justification was an acceptable excuse to my bank manager when I extended my overdraft to afford my new Mulberry Lily Metallic Leopard bag...

It's worth every penny though - even if it means I have to downsize on my other expenses for the month. The other thing I've now got to downsize since its purchase is the amount of make-up I carry around with me. The 'Lily' it would seem, is considerably smaller than the oversized holdall I currently use with enough room in it for the kitchen sink (and probably the dishwasher too). So, after much deliberation, I have come up with THE essential make-up kit to carry around with you at all times.

The highlighter

Highlighters - they brighten and they lighten without trying to cover anything, they just make the face a little less zombie-like. Guerlian's Precious Light Rejuvenating pen makes you look like you - on a really good day.

The atomizer

Decant your favourite smell into an atomizer and top up your fragrance throughout the day. This gorgeous number is a wonderful keepsake and looks beautiful when pulled out of your bag. Trés chic.

The eyeliner

Chanel's Stylo Yeux waterproof eyeliner is a miracle product, it's soft to apply and even withstands an evening of wild dancing!

Lip balm

Eve Lom Kiss Mix: In the realm of luxe lip balms. this one, from the renowned British facialist, is my favourite. Th formula feels amazing on the lips and leaves the slightest pale, glossy tint. Posh pucker!

The palette

I love Bobbi Brown's face palettes. The shades are very versatile, especially since they are neutrals and it is like carrying around a whole make-up bag in one! My favourite is the Antigua Face Palette, a perfect set of shades.

The nail shaper

A Manicure Crystal Nail File is longer lasting than any other you'll find. Worth every penny for keeping your nails in check - just don't bite them!

One thing is for certain, this downsizing business - it's in the bag!
